Every July we celebrate the birthday of our founder, Walter Landor. This year, our Australian event had a twist.

With the help of a few misleading clues, the team were successfully kept in the dark about plans for the day.

The morning activity split everyone into four teams to discuss two topics: the perfect brain and the perfect storm. After 25 minutes, the teams met in the boardroom to resolve what makes the perfect brainstorm. The answers were diverse, and all the more interesting.

After a break for Mexican food (guaca-holy-mole!) and the Walter Awards, we continued on with our quarterly update as usual.

As we neared the end of the presentation, two masked kidnappers burst into the boardroom, seized our managing director and left behind a lot of stunned faces with demands to fulfill if they wanted the hostage back.

And so the four teams set off on a man hunt around Sydney with a list of cryptic clues.

The last clue led them to a rooftop bar, where the aptly named Team #1 were first to rescue Dom, dressed as a crocodile, from the poker room downstairs.

Overjoyed to have their fearless leader back, the team celebrated in style (and good weather) until the wee hours.

All in all, the day was a smashing success. Happy 100th Walter!
